John qualified as a solicitor in 1981. Having worked in the Knightsbridge area for over 20 years John has established close links with local estate agents, landlords, surveyors and property developers. John has specialist knowledge of lease extensions and individual and collective freehold enfranchisement as well as dealing with all aspects of residential and commercial conveyancing.
Tony Wilson is the senior partner of the firm which began life originally in 1988 in Cromwell Road SW5. He specialises in both non–contentious and contentious commercial and property related work of all types throughout his career and still acts for a number of clients who first instructed the firm in 1988. Tony has been a director and shareholder of several property companies, which has provided invaluable insight and experience for clients from both a practical and legal viewpoint. Tony's most recent contentious work includes the successful pursuit of an order for specific performance of a property contract and a complicated and urgent defended possession claim.
Tony has put together site assembly work for a range of clients including the famous "Pioneer Point" in central Ilford. Tony is also involved in the handling and resolution of civil disputes for a range of clients particularly on a Landlord and Tenant basis.
Tony's commerical expertise includes being instrumental in numerous company sales and acquisitions and commercial agreements of all types. He also enjoys acting for the “underdog” and has been able to assist a number of clients where other solicitors were unwilling or unable to act to protect their interests.
Tony has been chairman and president of the Kensington and Chelsea Chamber of Commerce. He has run three marathons in aid of cancer research and motor neurone disease (the last one being in Berlin when he was aged 50!) raising in excess of £50,000.00 in total.
Tony is married and has four children.
Joanna studied Law at the University of Reading before joining the firm in 2004. Upon joining the firm she completed her Legal Practice Course on a part time basis at the College of Law and qualified as a solicitor in 2007. She became a partner of the firm in May 2009.
Joanna has extensive experience in residential and commercial property law especially the London property market acting for national and international individuals and corporate clients.
Her particular passion and expertise involves acting in connection with Lease Extension, Collective Enfranchisement claims, Right to Manage and missing Landlord issues and overcoming these by claims through the Leasehold Reform Housing and Urban Development Act 1993, the Leasehold Reform Act 1967 and the Landlord and Tenant Act 1987. She enjoys the complexities of the legislation and using her technical knowledge to resolve difficult issues.

In her spare time, Joanna enjoys travelling, photography and running where she has run a number of marathons and half marathons to raise money for charity.
Elizabeth qualified as a solicitor in 2007 and joined Ashley Wilson Solicitors LLP in 2013. Prior to joining the Firm, she worked in the property department of a busy West-End law firm. She obtained her degree, BA (Hons) Hispanic Studies, from Kings College London and attended BPP Law School.
Elizabeth specialises in residential property and has extensive experience in all areas within this field and can therefore assist clients with any complexities that arise in a transaction. She offers comprehensive legal advice, complemented by honest practical and commercial advice. She has a wide local and international client base and is renowned for acting swiftly but diligently on sales and purchases, ranging from high-value freehold properties to smaller leasehold flats.
Elizabeth’s expertise includes property sales and purchases, exclusivity/ ‘lock-out’ agreements, lease variations and extensions, licences, remortgages and bridging loans. She also has experience in commercial property transactions, including lease renewals, rent reviews and licences for alterations.
Elizabeth offers a bespoke and all-encompassing service to her clients in which communication, efficiency, proactivity and speed are key.
Elizabeth grew-up and has always lived in London and thus has excellent local knowledge and contacts. She is fluent in Spanish and proficient French.
With over 20 years of experience in property, Margot works for buyers and sellers, leaseholders and freeholders. This makes her ideally placed to facilitate and action all aspects of property law from sales and purchases to other property issues such as new leases, licences for alterations, transfers of equity etc.
Margot joined Ashley Wilson’s Property Department in 2011. She graduated from Exeter University with a BA joint honours degree in History, English and Politics and then qualified as a solicitor in 1992. Her property experience was gained whilst working for Herbert Mallam Gowers Solicitors of Oxford, for Davies Brown Solicitors of Wimbledon where she was appointed Partner and Piper Smith Watton LLP of Westminster.
Margot is a member of the City of Westminster & Holborn Law Society, ALEP and AWS.
Caroline has worked in conveyancing for 30 years. She deals with all aspects of residential conveyancing including the acquisition and disposal of freehold and leasehold property, high value properties for owner occupation or investment and acting for lending institutions.
Caroline assists clients with all their property needs and handles a wide range of matters connected with residential properties. Clients include UK and overseas private individuals, companies based in the UK and offshore.
Caroline has worked in the Knightsbridge area since 1996.
She enjoys skiing, reading and pilates.
Ruby joined Ashley Wilson Solicitors as a paralegal in 2010 and went on to complete her Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in London, Bloomsbury. Ruby gained extensive experience in residential conveyancing as a paralegal and upon completing additional seats in civil litigation and probate during her training contract with the firm, Ruby qualified as a solicitor in October 2014.
Ruby is now based with the firm's property department and is specialising in freehold and leasehold acquisitions and disposals. Ruby is able to assist clients in connection with the following:-

Ruby is fluent in Bengali and offers a proficient service to both clients and third partys ensuring matters are dealt with promptly.
After reading Law at Exeter University, Jessica completed the Legal Practice Course at BPP and an MBA at London Metropolitan University achieving Distinctions. During her studies Jessica completed several work placements with Ashley Wilson Solicitors and on completion of her MBA, joined us first as a paralegal and then as a trainee. During her training contract, Jessica gained extensive experience of residential property, commercial property and probate matters dealing with both individual and corporate clients.
Jessica qualified as a solicitor in January 2016 and she is now part of our property department specialising in commercial conveyancing matters. Jessica assists clients with the acquisition and disposal of commercial and residential premises as well as Landlord and Tenant matters including granting and assignments of leases, licences to assign, licences to underlet, licences for alteration, rent deposit deeds and deeds of surrender.
When Jessica is not working she enjoys travelling, socialising with friends and participating in shaolin kickboxing.
Jade joined the firm in April 2013 after attaining a Law Degree at King’s College London in 2010 and travelling through Mexico, Asia and Australia in the intervening period.
She undertook her training contract at Ashley Wilson Solicitors focusing on conveyancing, property litigation and leasehold enfranchisement matters and qualified as a solicitor in January 2016. She now works closely with Joanna Botley specialising in leasehold enfranchisement work.
Lauren joined Ashley Wilson in 2013 as a Legal Assistant and is now studying towards becoming a Licenced Conveyancer whilst advising clients in both residential freehold and leasehold transactions. With ten years’ experience in dealing with conveyancing matters, Lauren is able to advise and assist on all aspects of the conveyancing process.
