Rosalind Mackworth CBE

Rosalind Mackworth read Law at Queens Belfast and then at Cambridge and joined Gregory Rowcliffe on qualification, becoming a Partner. She left to found Mackworth & Co. in Westminster in 1976. She had a good grounding in all branches of Law but later specialised in conveyancing and land law. She joined forces with Sheila Rowland (QV) in 1983 to form Mackworth Rowland.

Rosalind has acted for a number of Company and private clients and has an established client base in the Middle East and Arabia and a wide ranging clientele in the U.K., specialising in all aspects of land law including unregistered land and country estates and their problems, as well as London leaseholds. She also enjoys intellectual property problems.

Rosalind became the first Commissioner for the Social Fund in Great Britain and Northern Ireland in 1985 and served until 1993, being appointed CBE. She has been a Director of Riverside Health Authority, the Vice President of the European Union of Women and a long serving member of the Value Added Tax Tribunals. She was one of only eight "women solicitors of the year "in 2008 selected by the lawyer magazine. She now acts as a part time consultant for the firm and maintains her strong connection with the Royal Hospital in Chelsea.
