Einar is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and an RICS registered valuer with over 18 years experience in the profession.
He provides advice to a range of residential and mixed use property owners in valuation, management and associated professional disciplines including expert witness and valuation work, where he has also been instructed directly by the Upper Tribunal.
He has over 10 years experience in overseeing service delivery for a variety of landlord clients with diverse remits ranging from single property instructions to full London Estates with incomes of many millions to ground rent portfolios extending to thousands of units.
Einar sits on the Residential Committee of the British Property Federation, the Residential Steering Committee for Investment Property Databank “IPD” and has recently participated in the RICS Working Group into the valuation of residential property purpose built for renting.
Einar has acted with Ashley Wilson providing expert valuation evidence twice in recent years and on both occasions our mutual clients have had the subsequent decisions in their favour. Expert witness work requires both a detailed knowledge of the subject matter and a highly rigorous approach in order to maintain correct valuations in the testing arena or Tribunals or Courts.
Cluttons’ residential consultancy team have been involved as expert witnesses in many of the leading cases in the field of enfranchisement. One very recent example was the involvement of, Simon Scott-Barrett, one of our leading practitioners, in the high profile High Court litigation in the enfranchisement case involving Dolphin Square. This is the biggest enfranchisement case in history measured in terms of value. Cluttons gave evidence for the freeholder who were trying to defeat the claim to acquire the freehold. The decision is still awaited but the case involved highly complex expert evidence and cross examination by Leading Counsel over several days.
Cluttons have a large team of residential valuation specialists many of whom have extensive experience of giving evidence and relish the opportunity to exercise these hard won skills.
